• developing design briefs that suit the company purpose

• presenting finalised ideas and concepts to clients or account managers
• working with a range of media, including computer-aided design (CAD), and keeping up to date with emerging technologies
• proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
• demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for print
• commissioning illustrators and photographers
• working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.

Responsibilities:

 

Study design briefs and determine requirements
Schedule projects and define budget constraints
Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design
Test graphics across various media
Amend designs after feedback
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Assessing and determining the needs of the client to portray the desired message and design, and its appeal to customers or users. Involving consideration of cognitive, cultural, physical, and social factors to plan and execute desired designs and target audience.
Making suggestions or decide on colors, sound, artwork, photography, animation, style of type, and other visual elements for the design along with appropriate size and arrangement of the different elements on the page or screen.
Reviewing existing ideas and concepts, revising and modifying them as per client’s requirements and working with senior designers and concept developers in creating new ideas.
Participating in the development plan to achieve the company goals in advertising and publishing and assisting the marketing team to execute the marketing plan for publications.
Hiring, training and directing staff members who develop design concepts into art layouts or who prepare layouts for printing.

Requirements:
Conceives ideas and concepts; designs, produces, works with others and coordinates in the creation of materials in print, and other mediums for a variety of projects.
Works with project managers and team members to provide professional recommendations for concept, design, art direction, production, print buying, and monitors quality control.
Defines design criteria; develops concept and direction; proposes, directs and creates art and photography.
Operates a computer or uses traditional techniques for a variety of graphic design activities, including desktop publishing and layout, production, illustration, and prepress file preparation.
Creates and develops media using digital art and photographic techniques.
Monitors and tracks production projects to ensure proper and timely completion of work with outside vendors to meet production deadlines.
Responsible for print and prepress service specifications, purchasing, approvals and quality control.
Selects and purchases graphic and photographic supplies.
Maintains equipment and supply inventory; maintains accurate files and records.
Contributes to the editorial development of projects.

    • Basic process and design project management skills including assisting in defining project scope, budget, and schedules necessary to complete projects in a timely manner.

 

    • Working knowledge of pre-press or 4-colour printing including color and file preparation to achieve the desired outcome for the product.

 

    • Basic understanding of competitive design trends that are translated into the product development process
