Data Analyst (SQL, Power BI) is required to join a successful start-up company providing back office services within the insurance industry to a number of Managing General Agents (MGA’s). This role is to be based in their Croydon office with the majority of this small, friendly and close-knit team.

My client is looking for a Data Analyst to work closely with and support their group information manager as the company is going through a period of growth. Due to this being a start-up environment there is no typical day each with its own challenges and exciting opportunities. You will spend most of your time writing and managing queries with SQL, developing and optimising within powerapps and Power BI and dealing with any issues or queries from clients and customers.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • SQL (Azure)
  • POWER BI
  • Financial services experience
  • Experience of data visualisation and building dashboards beyond Excel
  • Qlikview or Tableau
  • 5/6 years of Data Analyst experience

Data Analyst required on the outskirts of SALISBURY (SP4) to assist the Employee Services department. Responsible for the maintenance of People Data, reported out of SAP and fed into the PEAKON system. Along with the design, development and streamlining of the reports used by the payroll function.

The Job:
The successful Data Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring reporting systems provide reliable, accurate and meaningful data from company systems
  • Reviewing current system processes, and suggest changes to optimise the performance for end users
  • Monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting to ensure corrections are made to the data
  • Designing and testing new processes/applications
  • Define to the business the needs and the value of building one-off reports, as requested
  • Ensuring that payroll data is provided in a timely manner, and in the accurate format
  • Proactively seek areas for continuous improvement and implementing improvements

Requirements:
The Data Analyst will have:

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedicated to meeting deadlines/SLAs
  • Analytical skills and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to communicate with both customers & colleagues at all levels
  • Flexible, self-motivated and able to prioritise and use own initiative
  • Must be able to pass security clearance

Role Purpose:

My client in question are looking for experienced Data Analysts to join our Capital Markets Consulting Business across Europe & North America.

You will be working on a Consulting basis across Capital Market clients, with your duties/responsibilities typically including:

  • Interpreting and analysing data
  • Developing and implementing databases, data analytics and data collection systems
  • Conducting full life cycle analysis
  • Daily/weekly/monthly reporting
  • Identifying and analysing trends
  • Filter and clean data

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong data analyst skills and experience
  • Strong experience with reporting packages
  • Programming skills including XML, ETL frameworks, Javascript and others
  • Proficient in reporting writing and presenting findings
  • Degree in Economics, Maths, Statistics, Computer Science
  • Good database skills including SQL

You will be employed directly with the consultancy on a permanent basis and then you will be asked to work on a variety of different project across leading Financial Services/ Capital Markets Tier 1 companies. Each project will vary in length and will present a new and testing environment so you will constantly be developing your skill set & experience.

Initially when you join you will be asked to sit on the “Managed bench” in our clients main London Office from 2-6 weeks, whilst your skills and experience are lined up to a current role/Project or one that is due to start.

Salaries are dependent on skill set and experience but are market leading.
